Raetihi scheme change to go to hearing
A number of objections have been received to the proposed Raetihi District Planning Scheme change, which is designed to allow the establishment of a meat processing plant near the town, but Mayor Garrick Workman said he hopes the objections won't jeopoardise the town's chances of getting the industry. The council heard at their meeting last week that because of the objections there would have to be a formal hearing. The main objection to the scheme change is from Transit New Zealand, which is over a minor detail and the mayor said it posed no real problem to accommodate it.
