Tangiwai service

About 50 people attended the second annual Tangiwai Disaster memorial service at the Tangiwai Memorial on Christmas Eve. The half-hour service started 10.30pm and was held in memory of those who died in the Tangiwai Train Crash. Ruapehu Lions are still working on the memorial site, installing a covered display showing the aftermath of the disaster and rescue work.
