Cloak and dagger stuff to visit Raetihi and Waiouru

Raetihi and Waiouru are on the route of "The Nissan Mobil Great Clouseau Caper" car rally which is being held 8-15 September, in aid of the Child Cancer Foundation. The rally, featuring only cars 25 years and older, is to be run with the help of the Army and service clubs throughout the North Island. Competitors must find who has stolen the "Pink Panther Diamond" and why, in the event based on Peter Sellers' Inspector Clouseau character. During the event they follow a round-the-North Island course which passes through Raetihi and Waiouru on Tuesday afternoon, 11 September In Waiouru competitors (not the cars!) must complete an Army confidence course on the Wednesday morning before heading across the Gentle Annie. Organisers are still taking entries and say they would love to see some from this area.
