Bogus fax listing warning

Telecom Central is advising customers who receive an official-looking bill/order/statement from a group calling themselves Telepost of Vaduz, Switzerland, to hand it to the police. The Bulletin received one last week with what appears to be the standard amount of US$942 (that's around NZ$2700) marked "payment due to us", for entry in a list of facsimile subscribers. Telecom Central told the Bulletin they have received a number of inquiries about the letters and have been advised that the police are investigating what appears to be a case of fraud. No trace has yet been made on where the letters are coming from.
