Whakapapa ski school

For 1990 the Whakapapa Ski School has come up with so'me exciting packages to make improving skiing fun and introduce skiers to Whakapapa. Group lesson times have been brought forward and there are now three lessons each day. New this year is the Whakapapa Ski Experience, a series of weekends with five hours tuition on Saturday and Sunday and including picnics in the snow, hikes to the Crater and a trip over the top to Tukino or Turoa. The package includes learning to ski bumps and

spring snow and if the weather is bad rafting is sometimes included. A Master Mountain Programme on the other hand is a four day midweek package that includes three hours of instruction each day and dinner with the ski instructor. There are seven Master Mountain weeks throughout the season. The Ski School is also offering telemark and snowboarding lessons. Whakapapa's new Race Department is offering a season long development programme and Holiday Week Race Camps for recreational racers.
