Regulations to tighten hazardous substances transportation
Changes to regulations governing transportation of hazardous substances on land will come into effect on 1 May. The changes affect operators of transport service vehicle and manufacturers and consignors of hazardous substances carried in vehicles. Operators will also be required to put drivers through an approved instruction course by the beginning of next year. Consignors and operators failing to comply with regulations are liable to fines and disqualified from driving transport service vehicles.
