Waiouru's new nurse

Waiouru has a new Public Nurse who arrived last week. Public Health nurse Alison Callow was recently transferred from the Wanganui area and is now looking to the new

challenge. Nurse Callow began her career as a registered nurse on the Isle of Man in the United Kingdom and left England to travel, visiting countries like America and Africa. Thfi main aim nf thf».

Public Health nurse is to promote health, covering many areas from changing peoples attitudes about health itself and how to care for themselves without the need of going into hospitals, to making neonle aware of world

health problems and how these problems can be solved in New Zealand. Apart from her nursing responsibility nurse Callow js looking forward to the sporting activities that the region has to offer and said her interests are snow skiing, horse riding, tramping and playing golf. Alison Callow replaces Judith Brake who will be leaving Waiouru this week. Judith said she has enjoyed her time as the public health nurse here. She hopes the community will be as supportive of Alison as they were of her. Nurse Callow is looking forward to meeting members of the community and assures the community that she will carry on the excellent work of Judith Brake.
