OHAKUNE GARDENS UNDER SCRUTINY

Ohakune gardens are to come under scrutiny of the Ohakune Garden Circle, who are looking for the most pleasing gardens as viewed from the road. Gardens will be judged on layout and design, general maintenance and colour. Sponsors for prizes for winners are the Ruapehu District Council and Trustbank Central. Best gardeners will hold the Ohakune Garden Pride Rose Bowl, inscribed with their name. They will also receive a gift voucher. Second and third places will also receive vouchers. Judging of gardens within the former Ohakune Borough boundaries will take place sometime in the last week of November and the first week in December.
