WAIOURU WEED TREE CONTRACTS LET
Four contracts for clearing Pinus contorla pine tree weeds from land near Waiouru have been let by the Rangitikei District Noxious Plants Authority, for a total of $69,382 P.S. Hay was awarded three contracts, for the Ngamatea Swamp ($5370), Irirangi ($4185) and Hihitahi ($2827) blocks. Wanganui Aero Works Limited were granted the contract for the block east of the defence land for $57,000. The meeting held on 21 September was the last one for the authority, with the work to be taken over by the new Regional Council from the end of October.
