COMMITTEES FOR REGIONAL COUNCIL
The Manawatu-Wanganui Region Transition Committee are looking into a possible committee structure for the new regional council, of which this area is to be part. Three standing committees, covering operations, environment and planning and corporate services are planned. Support has been voiced for rural services advisory committees for pest destruction, noxious plants and drainage. The advisory committees would consist of both council members and appointed people. Other committees include regional land transport and civil defence.
