Pot luck Pony quiz
A good attendance of 22 members and approximately 20 adults at the pot luck dinner and Pony Club Horsemastership quiz on Saturday 5 August 1989 enjoyed an interesting evening. Five teams competed, made up of combined Ohakune and Raetihi members and were asked both team and individual questions. Subjects ranged fforn health to shoeing, equitation aids to jumping and safety factors in handling horses. Finally a picture quiz added variety. Members' answering j ability and general j knowledge showed imIprovement which must |be good news for the ponies owned by members and for the riders themselves who can go forward for certificates with aded confidence. Branch teams were selected to go forward to the King Country ; Quiz on Saturday 19 : August at 4pm at the Waimarino Club, I Raetihi. It is hoped all ; local members will ' support their teams who : will be competing ; against teams from : Kaitieke, Ongarue and
Taumarunui for the Weir Trophy. There will be a $1 door charge and a pot luck dinner follwed by a social. Quiz results: 1st 119 points, Rachel James (Captain), Emma Cornwall, Rachel Gotlieb and Victoria Duigan. 2nd 114 points, Fiona Evans (Captain), Trudi Allerby, Vanessa Enright and Cameron Morris. 3rd 109 1/2 points, Rodney Mc-
Coubrie (Captain), Natasha Richards, Vicky Pearson, Mami McGregor, Virginia Morris. 4th equal 107 points, Sharon Wagstaff (Captain), Lisa Hagley, Sally Williams and Kerri Allerby and Cindy Langdon (Captain), Melanie Mitchell, Janine Maru, Megan Enright and Briar McGregor. Maximum possible points were 140.
