Manson Cup golf

Sunday 13 August saw a good crowd from Taumarunui down to compete in the annual Manson Cup golf competition. Coupled with a good tumout of locals a field of over 80 braved the cold to battle out the cup. Winners on the day were Waimarino taking 1st place with average points of 31 to Taumarumii's 28. Prizes in the Women's

section went to H Cranston. 1st on the toss from G Frazer, both 37 points, J Donghi, N Winter, K Greenwood and M Cadogan. 2nd with 36 points, then came N Hall, A Pritt, F Dempsey and A Roake, E Rush, J Leslie, L Cotter, N Cranston, B Frost, L Drinkwater to take the minor placings. For the Men, S Magee and H Geister tied with 39 points with 1st place going to H Geister in the toss. Next with 38 points

were H Geraghty and C Tumer, G Allerby 37, J Ennis, T Geraghty and T, Tapp on 36 points, R Pearson, B Thompson, K Summerhays, P Price 35 points, Ross Brown, J McDonald and T Fredricks Snr 34 points. Two's were scored by J Summerhays, C Tumer, T " Geraghty, J Murphy and K Summerhays on 26 August the Turoa toumament of 27 holes will be held, entry fee is $15 which includes lunch and Two's.
