FIREFIGHTER'S SKI RACE SPONSORS SOUGHT

Ohakune's volunteer brigade are looking for sponsors for their inaugural New Zealand Fire Fighters Ski Championships, to be held at Turoa Skifields 28-29 September. The event includes a giant slalom and a dual slalom race for firemen from around the country from novices to experts. So far the brigade has 17 four-member teams enquire and they have invited 25 teams. Television and daily newspapers have been invited, and have agreed to cover the event. The sponsorship the firemen are looking for will be needed for running costs, prizes, goods for "survival" promotion packs and spot prizes.
