1990 CALENDAR OF EVENTS TAKING SHAPE
The 1990 Commission has released a calendar of events for next year's 150 years commemoration. Included in the calendar for the Waimarino so far are the 1990 Waimarino A&P Show and "Sing Aotearoa - The Ohakune Odyssey". Waiouru 's Desert Fair and Around the Mountains Relay will also have a special 1990 flavour, says the Commission. Chief executive for the commission, Don Hutchings said he hoped further projects would be developed especially for the elderly, youth and women and in areas such as health, tourism, the environment, agriculture, recreation, sport and trade and industry.
