WAIOURU MATERNITY ANNEX RUMOURS DENIED

Rumours abound in Waiouru concerning the Maternity Annex and the possibility that it is to close. But the rumours are totally unfounded, according to Lt/Col Clive Sinclair. He said the rumours have been circulating for several months and have even got to the stage of setting a date for the closure. "To set the record straight, there has been no decision made concerning the Maternity Annex," said Lt Col Sinclair. He said there was to be a public meeting at the Waiouru Community Centre on March 7, 1989 starting 7.30pm to discuss the health care options for Waiouru residents. "It is from the views expressed at the meeting and considerations of the Wanganui Area Health Board that decisions will then be made," he stated.
