MAHURAFGI HEADS REGATTA.
Committee Mipstinq,
A committee meeting of the above was held at the Maronio Hall on Wednesday evening. Present, Messrs A, D. Grant (chairman), J Dunning, Scandrett, Gk Emtage, E. Morrison. W. Southgate, Anderson and W. J. Wilson (secretary).
The finances of the i^revious year ■were discussed and several small ac counts were passed fox payment. A hearty vote of thanks wa.s tendered lo the chairman of the committee, Mr. A. D. Grant, and to the secretary, Mr. W.J.Wilson. ■'■■■■
Public Meeting
The public meeting convened, then took place, about twenty gentlemen attending, Mr. .Morrison proposed that Mr. W, J. Wil-on take the chair, seconded by Mr, Dunning and cirried,
A statement of the balance-sheet was read, which showed a balance of about £8 10s, The. chairman stated that he had been away and therefore the actounts were not all as he would liice, but they would be duly audited and sent to the Rodney and Otamatea Times for publication,
Mr. A. 13. Grant was elected to be Secretary, and Mr. R. Houghton, Treasurer.
Mr. Dunning proposed, Mr. La R-tche seconded, that in lieu of a President, a Commodore, vice Commodore, and Rear Commodore be appointed. Carried;
On the motion of Mr. Dunning, secondenby Mr. W. J. Wilson, C. 11. Lustying-ton Esq. was elected Commodore,; Messrs Dunning" add G. Erntage were, elected vice and rear commodore^respecively.
Mi. Bmtage proposed, Mr. Morrison seconded that the last year's list of VicefPrasidents, excepting those who :had left the district be re-elfcted, the committee having power to add to their number. Carried.
;. Mr. t)unning proposed that the old c anmittee he re-elected with power to add.to their number. Seconded by Mi-. Anderson and carried.
Mr. Morrison proposed that flatbottomed boat races be confined to boats 21ft: overall, 2ft. 3in. wide, and that it be optional to have a round in the bottom of not m.ore than two inches, square bilge and no out -riggers, Seconde ! by Mr, Dunning and carried. ' The same handicappers as last year were re-elected.
Starter and judge, 0. P. Murdoch Esq. Timekeepers Messrs A. Rayner anct P. Thomson. Mr. Murdoch to be handicapper for the second yacht race. Mr, C. P. Wilkinson, handicapper for the large yacht race. Auditor: Mr. Rayner. Mr. Dunning offered a Trophy for the Ladies' race.
The offer of the Coastal S.S. Co. to run an excursion from Warkworth and act Flagship with the Kapanui at £ 12 was accepted including all takings. The next committee meeting was fixed for Wednesday evening next. A vote of thanks to the chairman tevminated the meeting.
