The prospectus of the Farmers' Cooperative Supply Association of Auckland, Limited, which appears in this issue, is worthy of attentive reading by settlers. The company takes over the business of Messrs ~W\ J. Hurst and Co., which has been in existance in Auckland for forty years, and Mr. A. H. Grainger, the company's managing direc'or, was, with Hurst and Co, for thirty-six years. It will be apparent, then, that the coiirpany secures a good business connection and experienced management from the very start. It is a mistake, we think, to regard this Auckland Farmers' Co-operative Supply Association as in any way in opposition with any other Society, its tendency being, 'o
help any farmers' organisations, as, for example, in the matter of shipping produce to the Home market. • We hear of one excellent feature in the new Association, viz., that no (matter how many shares he holds) no member will have moie than five votes.
