Hoteo North.
A very successful social came off in the school room on the 1 lth.
Invitations were responded to from "Wayby, Port Albert, Kaipara FUts, and Wellsford. All present seemed to enjoy the pleasures of social pastimes. Mr, C. Levett performed the duties of MG. and Messrs Rogers, Wilson, Levett and Gribbs provided good music A refreshing supper was served out at 12 o'clock, after which many winded their ways homewards, while others Avent on with the merry-making.
This thriving district is looking at its best now. Once the railway reaches here, and a sure and quick transit is assured for the product of the land, Hoteo North will be one of the best farming districts in the province. A little more public spirit among the settlers just now would help this muc.i wished for condition of affairs to be
realized,
