ROTORUA OPEN PAIRS TOURNAMENT
Drsw For.Section Play Beginning To-Day »v The Government Gardens greenst will again be fully occupied this week when the Rotorua' Bowling Club's annual open pairs to'ui^iament will be held. The tournament will commence this morning following the official opening at 8.45 p.m. by the president, Mr. A. J. White, and will continue at least until Friday, wben it is probable the finals will be decided. As is usual, the number of teams engaged will be 55, althc-ugh a cons'iderably greater number of entries had to be dealt vnth when nominations closed lasf November. Since tho. recent open rinks fixture two weeks previously, considerable spells of fairly heavy rain have done much to reinstate tbe condition of the greens, which "should be playing equally as well if not better than previously.
The successful pair last year, F. W. Dingwall and A. F. Budd, of Rotorua, will again be contesting the title but the previous runners-up, A. Robertson *and F. Livingstone (Onehunga), are engaged at the Dominion tournament at Wellington and will not be playing in Rotorua. Three vounds of section play will be decided each day, the luncheon interval of an hour being taken at 12.45 p.m. Following is tbe section draw and teams engaged: — Section A: W. A. Forsyth, S. R.
