WELLINGTON, Last Night. A forecast of legislation afiBcting the election of city ccuncils to be brought- down bytho Governm/ent at the coming session was made by Cr. C. A. Wright at the meeting of the Wellington City Council tonight. * ' "Councillo-rs should know that as a. l-ppult of legislation passed at the end * of the past session of Parliament^ rouncil elections will he held in Noyemher instead of April," said Cr. , Wright. "The new" legislation to he brought in at the coming sessiori t would return the polliifg to1 the old . ward system, with the Mayor to be efficted by the councillors so elected, instead of by a separate Mayoral elrction." Cr. Wright asked the Mayor, Mr. Will Appleton, if he would raise the matter at the forthcoming Municipal nference to'be held in Rotorua. Mr. Appleton said that he would he plcased to do so and said that forces culd be raised to fight the legisla--tion.
