SECURITY COUNCIL STILL SPARRING
LONDON, Feb. 12. TJie Security Council is meeting again in New York to-day, after its failure to reaeh a decision on procedure 011 .the discussions for disarma'ment. The point of interest is whether the Powers Disarmament Cc'inmission should be allowed to dis, cuss atomic weapons. M. Gromyko thinks it should do so and told the council that he sees no distinction between socalled conventional armament and atomic weapons. In his view, the Americans by wanting to keep atomic weapons exclusively for the Atomic Energy Commission, would only hold up disarmameijt. The American delegate, Senator Austin, has revealed that the resolution for the Disarmament Commission calls for information on armed^ fo-rces and M. Gromyko had told the General Assembly that" this information must include atomic. weapons. "Perhaps," Senator Austin added, "the Soviet Government is thinking of introducing into the Disarmament Commission new proposals about atomic weapo-ns. The United States cannot accept these."
