PALMERSTON NORTH, last* night. While a Lockheed plane was being overhauled in a hangar at the. Milson aerodrome to-day a fire, the resut of some ' volatile substance -catching alight, occurred inside the machine. Before the fire was effectively dealt with by the staff, with foam spray, two. men had reeeived burns which necessitated their removal to hospital. The fire was suppressed before the arrival of the Palmerston North Fire Brigade, and it is understood tHat the plane was damaged only to a minor extent.
