GEORGE CROSS & MEDAL AWARDS ANOUNCED
LONDON, February 5. The George Cross has been awarded Squadron-Leader Hubert Dinwoodie, of Hampshire, for "cold-blooded heroism in de-fusing 1 1 shock-sensitive German bombs in the Lubeek docks in August, 1946, when there was danger that the bombs might detonate two trainloads of bombs destined for dumping at sea." The Georg"e Medal is awarded to Corporal Roland Garred, of St. Leon-ards-on-Sea, and the British Empire Medal to Leading-Aj,rcraftman John Hatan, -of London, for their part in the incident.
