Farmers' Lack of Interest In Federation Activities
"I am disappointed at the lack of interest shown by farmers in the affairs of their own federation," said the President of the Rotorua-Ngongo-taha branch of the N.Z. Federated Farmers, Mr. A. J. M. Brown, at its monthly general meeting yesterday. j "I had thought that the merging of I the old Farmers' Union with Feder- ' ated Farmers would have caused many of the members to take a more active interest in association activities, but this has not been the case." , Mr. Brown was seeking the opinion of executive members present of the desirability of refusing to accepc nomination for office at the next election of officers. i The membership of the branch, said Mr. Brown, >vas high, but could not j be taken as an indication of the mem- I bers' interest.
