SHOW PROFITS ARE GIVEN TO CHARITY
"A very unusual eompany," were the words that Mr. V. Wallis, business manager for the Frivolity Minstrels, otherwise the "Frivs" used to describe his charges. In the 1947 provincial tour of the eompany four towns have already been visited. Wairoa, 'Gisborne, Opotiki and Rotorua. The eompany will play in Tauranga on Friday, in Whakatane on. Saturday, and will fhen return to their home town of Napier. The eompany is unusual in the respect that before a tour is commenced each member deposits his share of expenses. Any profits made automatically go to some deserving eharity, but sliould there be a loss, this is borne by the members. During the 49 years which the "Frivs" have been operating, over £50,000 has been douated to charity.' At the end of this year the 50th anniversary of the eompany will be eelebrated in fitting style.
