NEW ZEALAND MERCHANT FLEET GROWING
More Ships Bemg Built * LONDON, Jan. 13. The damage caused by the fire on the 15,000 cargo passenger vessel Corinthic on January 4 has been carefully examined by the builders, Cammel Laird Ltd., who believe it should be possible to have the ship ready for her trials by the end of April. Her trials were toj have been early next month. The Athenic, a sister ship, is being built at Belfast, and will also be ready in April. Two other sister ships, being built by Cammel Laird and Swan Hunter respectively, will hoth be completed next year. Shaw Savill has now taken over the Arawa which is the first of their fleet to be reconditioned since the wai*. She is sailing for New Zealand on March 15 with 250 passengers. The passenger accommodation has heen redecorated and additional private haths installed. The Arawa was built in 1922 and during the war served as an armed cruiser and a trocper.
