Stern Gang Claims Responsibility

JERUSALEM, Jan. 13. The Stern Gang, by leaflets put out in Tel Aviv, is claiming to be tesponsible for the outrage at the pclice headquarters in Haifa. A curfew imposed last night has uow heen lifted. The outrage was the biggest since the King David Hotel explosion last year. The police building* has been declared unsafe, and some 200 of the staff are being put up at neighbouring houses. The Palestine Higher Arah Committee is reported to have adjourned after a two-hour meetj(ng withc-ut" deeiding whether to accept the British invitation to attend the London conference in just over two weeks' time. The Committee may go to Cairo soon for discussicns with the ex-Mufti of Jerusalem.
