WOMAN CHARGED WITH ABANDONING CHILD
AUCKLAND, Last Night. The diseovery of a baby in a drain at Otahuhu on April 3 led to the appearanee in the police court to-day of Gladys Ellen Black, aged 29, a waitress, married. She was charged with abandoning a rnale child under two years and she pleaded guilty. The evidence was that the child was found wet to the skin from lying in a drain. It was icy cold. Accused was committed to the Supreme Co-urt for sentence.
