MR. STASSEN ASPIRANT FOR PRESIDENCY
Republican Party Does Not Approve Palestme Policy NEW YORK, Dec. 18. A candidate for the next presidential election has been announced. Mr. Harold Stassen, former Governor of Minnesota, has declared his willingness to stand for nomination as the Republican candidate. The foreign affairs experts of the Republican party have spoken of its party's a'ttitude to the policy pur3ued by Mr. J. F. Byrnes. They said agreement with the Demoerats cov?red only United Nations affairs and the European peace settlements, but >■ would not take any responsibility for other policies, including that of Palestine.
