CAPTAIN C. H. UPHAM IN HOSPITAL

SufFering From Severe Burns and Shock " CHRISTCHURCH, last night. Captain C. H. Upham, V.C. and Bar, has been admitted to the Christchurch Hospital suffering- from severe bifrns to one of hih legs, as a result of petrol leaking from the lamp he was using at his farm and igniting. He also suffered shock, and it is likely he will be in hospital for some weeks. He made the long journey from North Canterhury on Friday by truck, ref using the services of xan amhulance. His condition is satisfactory.
