FOUR YOUNG PEOPLE HAVE NARROW ESCAPE FROM DROWNING

Gisborne, Wedriesday.A splendid rescue from drowning was effeeted at Wainui Beach last evening, when Ralph Matthews (20), Lois Matthews (15), Lorraine and Moanne Harris (19 and 17 respectively), got into difficulties beyond the line of break ers. Jack Seebett (18), was the first to their assistance. He was joined by R. N. Sloaii, who rescued three single-handed agaiiist a strong undei'tow and a choppy sea.
