RECORD SESSION LASTS FOR ONLY EIGHT MINUTES GENERAL GOERING PRESIDENT
-By Telegraph — Oopyright).
Berlin, Dec. 12. A militaristie air pervaded the new Reichstag when it assembled at the Kroll opera house. Over 600 of the members were in uniform, the majority being in brown Nazi garb with red brassards, reminiscent of a war-time gathering. Thousands of spectators were disappointed at the absence of Herr Hitler, the Chancellor, who was welcoming the cruiser Koln at Wilhelmshaven from a world cruise. The house elected General Goering as President by acclamation and chose three new vice-Presidents. The proceedings were short and snappy. The session was the briefest on record. It lasted , eight minutes. The customary roll-call was dispensed with.
