HADDON COMMITTED FOR * TRIAL BY POLICE COURT RELEASED ON BAIL

London, Dec. 12. Clarence Gay Gordon Haddon, cliarged to-day at Bow Street Police Court with demanding money from King George with menaces pleaded not guilty and reserved his defence. He said he never had any criminal intention. He was committed for trial and allowed bail on undertaking not to send further communications to the King. Haddon claims to be the illegitimate son of the King's brother, the late Duke of Clarence. In letters sent to the King he threatened if his request for "£606 a year as a private income and enough money to start a boarding house" were not acceded to he would sell the letters to the highest bidder. He further suggested that unless he was helped he would sliow the Royal Family in their true eolours to the Economic Conference delegates, causing them to_ Neave Eng'land with a nasty taste in their mouths. Counsel submitted that the letters contained demands with men The police stated that Haddon s character heretofore had been good.
