DEMAND FOR MONEY ENGINEER ARRESTED AND CHARGED AT BOW STREET • ' HIS MAJESTY GUARDED

(Rec. 5.5 p.m.) London, Nov. 29. A man is appearing before the magistrate at Bow Street this morning charged with d'emanding m'oney hy menaces from His Majesty the King. The Daily Herald says the man is a consulting engineer named' Clarence Day Gordon Haddon, aged 43. He was arrested last night at an address in Islington hy officers of the special branch of Scotland Yard after an all d'ay search. It was considered advisable at one period yesterday to put a special guard outside Buckingham Palace. Everybody" eiitering the courtyard, which usually is free of entry, was subjected to close scrutiny and questioned. Haddon is six feet tall and of commanding presence. He was dressed in smart lounge suit and carried a typewriter with him to Bow Street, where the Daily Herald says his finger prints were taken and he was placed in a celL
