FIVE DEATHS TRACED TO UNHEALTHY FOOD IN CHICAGO

— By Telegraph — Copyright).

Chicago, Nov. 22. The deaths of five men, members of the executives of timber concerns in the widely scattered cities of the United States and Canada, after having attended a convention here last summer were attributed by the American Medical Association Journal to amoebic dysentery. An epidemic of dysentery in Chicago was traced to several hotels and restaurants. Thirty-five cases occurred in the city and 100 in other parts of the country within a few weeks. The disease has been contracted by eating food handled by its victims and carriers who were unclean in their personal habits.
