SEARCHERS FIND MESSRS. PENTON AND LYNCH KILLED PLANE STRIKES MOUNTAIN

Christchurch, Tuesday. The missing aeroplane has been found, having crashed near the top .of Mount Turiwhati. The pilot, Mr. J. D. Renton, and the passenger, Mr. J. J. Lynch, are dead. The bodies were found 50 feet from the top of the mountain. The plane was on an even keel. Both men were in their seats, dead. Mr. Benton's hand was on the joystick. He bad a cut over one eye. Mr. Lynch was mueh injured. The successful searchers were Messrs. M. Treacy and W. Tinette. , The bodies will not be brought down till to-morrow. An Arduous Search The search parties were composed of experienced bushmen, each man being checked as he went out and returned. The men were spread over an area of from two to three miles. All kept within audible contact. The limit of visibility was about six feet. Underfoot the conditions were slippery. The fog eompelled most of the searchers to return unsuccessful. Captain Mercer proceeded this aftemoon to the scene. Mr. Lynch's son is Dr. Eugene Lyncb, surgical registrar at Wellington Hospital. Dr. Lynch left by aeroplane for Christchurch, at eleven o'clock today.
