MAN WHO CONVERTED CAR PURSUED 60 MILES BY CONSTABLE

Auckland, Monday. j Ernest Herbert Smith (26), bootmaker, who converted a car to his own uso in Auckland and obtained petrol for it at Te Kuiti by fraud, was sentenced to-day to four months imprisonment. The police said that Smith was observed in a missing car at Mangaweka, and a constable chased him 60 miles before catching him.
