ten horses killed

Dunedin, Monday. A mob of 13 horses was run into on Sunday night by the midnight express from Invercargill to Dunedin. Ten of the animals were killed. The horses belonged to Mr. J. Christie, of Warepa, and had' strayed on to the line through a gate which had been accidentally left open. The animals killed were all young draughts of good type. Mr. Christie estimates his loss at £300.
