PIG SALES
YARDINGS AT TAUPIRI Hamilton, Tuesday. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, Hamilton, report: — We held our opening sale of fat and store pigs at Taupiri on Monday. There was a very large attendance of farmers from theneighbourhood. An entry of 600 pigs was yarded, comprising 500 baconers and porkers, and 100 slips and weaners, which met with keen competition throughout from a full bench of buyers, every pig being sold at full market rates. The first pen of baconers offered on account of Mr. A. H. Waring realised £3 3s, being bought by R. and W. Hellaby, Ltd. The following is the range of prices obtained : — Heavy baconers, £2 18s to £3 3s; medium baconers, £2 10s to £2 15s; light baconers and heavy porkers, £1 18s to £2 7s 6d; medium porkers, £1 13s to £1 18s; light porkers, £1 8s to £1 13s; large stores £1 7s to £1 13s, medium do, £1 2s to £1 7s; slips, 18s to £1 ls; large weaners, 13s to 18s; smaller do, up to 12s 6d.
