New Yprk, Sept. 3. General Franceso de Pinedo, the Italian air ace met a flamlng death to-day when his load of 1020 gallons of henzine caught fire. His 'plane sweryed when taking off from a concrete run-way on Floyd B,ennett field and struck a wire f ence travelling at 70 miles. an hour. De Pinedo ytas bqrned to death. The machine was elaborately oqtfitted and had been groomed for weeks by Gefteral de Pinedo and his backer, Signor Ugio d'Annunzio, a son of Gabriel d'Annunzio.
