labour and coalition continue their wrangle A PROFITLESS ARGUMENT Christchurch, Sunday. Replying at Opawa on Saturday night to Mr. Holland's statement, Hon. E. A. Ransom declared that by his own words, Mr. Holland had suhstantiated his (Mr. Ransom's) statement regarding the refusal of the Labour Party to participate in the formation of a National Government. Mr Holland's words were "In any case, every demand for a National Government was accompanied by a demand for election postponement."
"This proves that the mvitauon was made," said the Minister who also read a telegram from Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates and Hon. Sir Apirana Ngata -who were members of the inter-party committee, statmg that the Labour Party was given an opportuity to join the National Goveinment but that Mr. Holtad relused. Messrs Howard and Holland had both claimed that Labour had not been inyited to join the Goalition l Gpvernment.
