WEDDING BELLS

BASHAM— CAMPNY. A picturesque wedding of much local interest was solemnised at St. Luke's Anglican Church by Arc-h-deacon Chatterton last Monday morning, when Rose Ethel Kathleen, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Campny, of Hinemoa St., was married to Phillip Arthur Leslie Basbam, only son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Basham, of New South Wales. Archdeacon F. W. Chatterton officiated. The church had been prettily decorated with arum lillies by friends of the bride, and Miss M. Mactier played the wedding music. The bride, escorted by her father, looked charming in a regal frock of ivory satin beaute cut on diagonal lines, the skirt falling in soft folds to the ground. Her tulle veil embroidered with true-lover's knots, was caught in place with a coronet of orange blossom. She carried a sheaf of arum; lillies. In attendanco as bridesmaid was the bride's cousin, Miss Lorraine Cruickshank, of Te Awamutu, who wore a dainty frock of daffodil organdie over satin, with a pineapple straw hat to tone. Her bouquet was of daffodils and Iceland poppies. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. Donald Rae, of Otahuhu. After the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the" bride's parents. Mrs. Campny, mother of the bride, received the guests in a- frock of floral georgette with' a black cloth coat, grey furs and hqt to tone. She carried a shower bouquet of scarlet anemones and roses. Later, the happy couple left by car for the south, the bride travelling in a smart grey tailored costume with hat to match. Mr. and Mrs. Basham intend making their future h'ome in Otahuhu.
