PRIZES OFFERED IN THREE COMPETITIONS THIS WEEK Competitions for this week s issue of the "Morning Post's" Ch:ldren's Page close to-morrow evening. In the senior section, a special prize valued at 2/6 is offered for the first correct solution received of the missing word competition published below. A number of entries have already been received but tliere is still a chance to win the competition. In the j'/nor sscflion, jpoints in the gramophone competition will be awarded for the best letter describing the writer's idea of a perfect holiday. Letters should be not more than 300 words in length and points will be awarded for neatness and oi\ginality* The portable gramophone donated by Mr. Epi Shalfcon and whlch is being competed for by both senior and junior sections, was on view in the window of Mr. Shalfoon's shop on Saturday and will be exhibited again this week. In addition to these competitions a special prize is offered the membei in either senior or junior section securing the largest number of new members for the page oy Thuisdsy, August 31. New members should register by filling in the coupon published on this page and forwarding it with their first entry. The name of the member sponsoring them should be written across the com~i of the coupon. Page members are asked to make a special effort to have their entries in by Wednesday evening as late entries make the work of deciding tht competitions considei'ably more diffi cult. Missing Names In the following little story, the names of a number of well-known makes of cars and lorries will fill m the blank spaces intelligihly. To help you I have left in ti.e first two sy that you can piek up the idea. A special prize to be decided when the winner is known will he awarded to the first correct or most nearly correct entry received. You will have to write out the story again and print in the names of the cars.
