Rec. August 3, 7.15 p.m. London, August 2. The Daily Telegraph, commenting upon the decision of the Otago Harbour Board to make . interest paym'ents in London in sterling, declares that this has naturally aroused hope in the city that the Auckland Transport Board will revert to its practice of paying interest on its tramways loan in sterling and make adjustments for the payments due on July 1 and which were paid in New Zealand eurrency. The journal says that whatever may be the legality of the contention that the tramways loan remains an internal issue despite saies in -London, there is still a strong moral .objigation to continue payment in sterling as Mr. Forbes recently admitted. The Fnancial News says that Otago Harbour Board quotations have been reinstated on the Stock Exchange official list as also hgve Auckland Harbour Board and Dunedin City issues.
