It enables numerpus crops to gro.w to the same extent in 10 days as they would normally occupy in two to- three months, The process .consists of sowing the seed in airtight cabinets from which the light has been excluded, the seed being treated with a considerable quantity of water and a small propoytion- of chemicals. The method produees such intense growth that the crop can be removed -from the C.abinet after 10 days when it is from 32in to 16in high, and •used immedjately for fattening pur-; poses. It is claimed that 36 crops can be grown annually and that all will be particularly suitable for fattening cattle owing to the High. vitamin content.
