Masterton, Monday. A well attended meeting of sheep farmers here to-day heard addresses by Mr. J. D. Hewitt, Dr. Marsden (Director of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research) and Sir William Perry on tlie sheep and wool improvement scheme and a motion that something be done for the improvement of wool was carried unanimously. The meeting rejected by 24 votes to 15 a proposal" that the Meat. Export Board shoUld be asked wholly to finance the research and improyement work. A motion opposing the establishment of the proposed cfentral committee and the imposition of a levy of 3d a bale was also carried after some discussion.
