A KANSAS KIDNAPPER RECEIVES EXTREME PENALTY THE FIRST IMPOSED

Kansas City, July 27. Walter McGee was sentenced to death to-day by the Criminal Court jury, which convicted him of kidnapping Miss Mary McElroy, the daughter of the city manager of Kansas City. This is the first case in which the extreme penalty has been assessed in the United States crusade against kidnapping, and one of the few in history to bring the death sentence when the victini was unharmed.
