VESSEL COULD BE REPAIRED IN YARDS

Rec. 7.1 0p.m. Paris, July 28. The British underwriters responsible for the insurance on the French liner L'Atlantique, which was seriously damaged by fire said that the vessel could be restored to its original ^'condition after eight months' reconstruction in a British ship-yard. The cost would be £1,750,000. If this could be proved to the satisfaction of the commercial tribunal of the Seine Department, they would be required only to pay this arnount to the owners, otherwise they will be required to pay £2,000,000 to the owners.
