ELDER STATESMEN COMPLETE LONG TERMS OF SERVICE SIR F. D. BELL RETIRES Wetllington, Friday. Twenty-one years continuous service as a member of the Legislative ) Couneil will be completed by Sir Francis Bell to-day when his present seven year term of appointment ends. Several other Leglislative Councillors are due to retire in the near future. The terms of the Hon. C. J. Carrington and J. H. Hanan expire on June 17. Sir James Allen will complete his term on June 1 of next year. Later in the same month Sir Edwin Mitchelson and Colonel Smith and Robert Scott will complete their r seven years. The present Couneil has a membership of 22. Retirements have taken a heavy toll of the strength of the Chamber during the pa'st few years, there having been 35 members when the Coalition Government assumed office in 1930.
