MAJOR GOODSELL WILL BE A CONTESTANT AT TORONTO

Los Angeles, Mar. 28. Major Goodsell, University of California rowing club coach and former world single scull champion, said on Tuesday, that he would contest the race for the title at Toronto, C'anada in the fall. His opponents will he Ted Philps, Great Britain, present champion, Bobby Pearce, 1932 Olympic champion, Bert Barry, Great Britain, former champion. Major Goodsell said that he understood the race is to he staged over 4 miles with three turns, with 5000 dollars as the first prize. It will take place during the Toronto exhibition hetween August 30 and September 9. Major Goodsell said that he would „ bring his trainer, George Towns, from Australia to prepare him for the test.
